Typical iEFIS System Package Description
An iEFIS can be specified for delivery with one or more iEFIS display modules sizes (up to 8 can be connected to the iBOX module). Two display modules is the common specification. One size display module is currently available – the 8.5″ iEFIS Explorer.
Our standard iEFIS (1 or 2 display module) 4 cylinder system packages include everything (including 4 EGT & CHT sensors) required for a fully functioning EFIS (extra sensors can be added for larger engines). Auto pilot servos, MGL transceivers and wireless node module are not included in the standard package, but, can be added. The packages include one iBOX; 1 or 2 x 8.5″ iEFIS Explorer display modules; 1 x engine module (RDAC-XF); and other sensors including a fuel flow sensor. All of the system components included in single iEFIS Explorer 8.5″ or iEFIS Challenger 10.4″ display package are listed below (NOTE: The package cost will vary depending on the type of iEFIS display (Explorer or Challenger) selected.
- 1 x iEFIS Explorer 8.5″ or Challenger 10.4″ high resolution, p/sensitive, tap screen display module;
- 1 x iBOX module (16-250 mph IAS);
- 1 x Engine module: 12 channel – RDAC-XF or specify RDAC-XF MAP, if manifold air pressure sensing is required;
- 1 x AH module (SP7);
- 1 x Compass module (SP6);
- 1 x GPS antenna;
- 1 x Ambient air temperature sender (alloy housing);
- 4 x EGT sensors (threaded or integrated jubilee clamp type)
- 4 x CHT sensors (ring or bayonet);
- 1 x Electonics international Red Cube fuel flow sender
- 1 x Magnetic field current sensor module;
Lycoming and Continental installations may require:
- Westach Oil temp sender (Lycoming) – POA if required;
- UMA tach sender (specify Slick or Bendix) – POA if required;
Whilst 2 x iEFIS display modules is a commonly specified package, a third (or fourth) panel can be added to your system package.
A second iBOX module can also be added, if redundancy is required. A single iBOX has command, with the other on hot standby, ready to take control if needed (along with all peripheral connected systems like radios and transponder).
If additional EGT/CHT sensors are required, POA per EGT sender (threaded or with integrated jubilee clamp), POA per CHT sensor (washer or bayonet type).
The alloy bodied Floscan fuel flow sensor which is suitable for threaded AN type coupling fuel lines can also be specified in place of the Electronics internation Red Cube at additional cost (POA). Other couplings will be required to be sourced by owners to plumb both these senders into their system.
An optional (additional cost) high speed sensor version of the iBOX can be specified which is capable of several mach numbers at altitude.
Items not supplied in the iEFIS Explorer package described above, include:
- Pre-made CAN Bus wiring harnesses (commonly added to the basic package);
- MGL auto pilot servos;
- Wireless node module (not yet released);
- MGL COM Radios (V6 or V10);
- MGL/Garrecht mode-s transponders. These remote mounted transponders can be fully controlled from the iEFIS panel.
- Oil pressure and water temp senders;
- Fuel level senders – (most existing senders can be used) or we can supply;
- Any hardware (bolts, nuts, cable ties, etc.) required other than those which are supplied to secure the panel and engine module.
