SP-6 magnetometer/electronic compass

The SP-6 contains a three axis magnetic field sensor and a 3 axis accelerometer. The system used a Cortex M3 32 bit processor.
If a SP-7 AHRS is used on the same communications link, tilt compensation can be performed using gyro based attitude data.

SP-7 AH (Attitude reference module)

The SP-7 contains a three axis MEMS gyros and a MEMS 3 axis accelerometer.  A Cortex M3 32 bit processor is used to provide stabilized attitude information. Together with a SP-6 magnetometer on the same airtalk communications link the gyro heading can be automatically slaved to the magnetic heading.

SP-5 AHRS (Attitude and Heading reference system)

The SP-5 contains 3 high grade RING gyros and 3 MEMS vibrating body accelerometers. Using a 16 bit data acquisition subsystem a powerful ARM7 32 bit processor is used to provide stabilized attitude information. Together with a SP-2 magnetometer on the same airtalk communications link the gyro heading can be automatically slaved to the magnetic heading.

The SP-5 is intended for applications requiring exceptional, professional level performance from the AHRS system. The SP-5 is based on RING gyros designed by British Aerospace (now BAe Systems).
